Soft boards, wobbly rails and failing stairs repaired, then cleaned and sealed to bring an old deck back to life.
Decks live outside, and weather is hard on them. Boards cup and crack, fasteners rust, railings loosen and the framing below can rot where water sits. A deck that looks tired may only need boards and a finish, and one that feels bouncy may need real structural repair.
We start with a full inspection: ledger connection, joists, beams, posts, stairs and railings. Then we replace damaged boards, repair or replace framing, tighten or rebuild railings, clean the surface and apply a quality stain or sealer to protect it. We also check how the deck was built originally, including flashing at the house, post connections and stair stringers, because older decks may not meet current practice. If anything unsafe turns up, we explain it plainly and price the fix separately from the cosmetic work.
Cosmetic repairs mean nothing if the ledger or posts are failing. We probe the framing, check the connections and tell you what is safe.
Individual boards can be replaced, and sometimes a whole surface should be. We explain when patching makes sense and when it does not.
Cleaning and sealing slow future damage. We use products suited to the wood and your sun exposure.
Rusty screws and weak hangers cause failures. We replace corroded fasteners with coated or stainless parts.
