Cedar, pressure-treated and hardwood decks framed properly and finished with railings, stairs and built-in details.
A deck extends the house into the yard, and in Middle Tennessee it can be used for much of the year. A good deck starts underneath, with solid footings, a ledger properly flashed to the house, sized joists and beams and hardware that does not rust through.
We design the layout, size the framing, install footings, frame the structure, lay boards with tight, even gaps and build stairs, railings, benches and planters. We select cedar, treated pine, redwood or tropical hardwood based on your budget, the look you want and the maintenance you are willing to do.
Footings below frost depth, a flashed ledger and correct joist spacing keep a deck safe. We build to the rules and over-build where it helps.
Cedar looks warm and ages gracefully, treated pine is economical and hardwoods last a long time. We bring samples and explain maintenance for each.
Hidden fasteners, picture frame borders, built-in benches, lighting and skirting turn a platform into an outdoor room.
Cedar needs regular sealing to keep its color, treated pine needs a few years to dry before staining and hardwoods need oil. We explain care for the one you pick.
